Totally agree! On one hand, things evolve and it may be important to understand what is happening in the space. But I look no further than Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin's very vocal concerns about what is happening in the crypto space—including this recent quote: "crypto itself has a lot of dystopian potential if implemented wrong." Personally knowing someone who is a developer in the space, I see a lot of the 'gambling' aspects and other hinky efforts to try and cash in as being somewhat the antithesis of what some of the original intent may have been. Add to it the belief that communities are being created but too many of those communities feel like just a new version of old-school boys clubs with outdated notions of posturing, status symbols, and elitism that just feels plain icky in the modern world.
